Jesus Wept

Posted by:

A short scripture verse has stayed with me for a lot of years, the verse “Jesus wept,” from John 11:35. Those who know the scriptures will know that this two word sentence/verse is in the story of Lazarus who had died and was dead four days already by the time Jesus showed up. Mary and Martha and their brother Lazarus, who had just died, were special friends of Jesus; it is for this reason no one was really surprised when ...

So I have been having back/chest pain for about 3 days and yesterday when I was working the pain increased. I thought I could just work through the discomfort and ignore the pain but it just became too much of a concern. So the great news is it was only a muscle spasm in my left shoulder that to me mimicked a heart attack. The bad news is and this is really illogical, why did I wait convinced I could ...

Jesus still saves

Posted by:

Had the Grandkids this weekend, what a blessing in my life. We have so much fun together and their lives bring me so much joy. Someone asked me if having Hayden and Ethan helps with the loss of Daniel. I can honestly say that it doesn’t. It does not make the loss of my own sweet boy any less intolerable! It resides in my heart; day-to-day the longing, the missing and the truth of the cost!

There is a truth in ...

Mother’s Love

Posted by:

Ever wondered, at the love of a mom
Its limits, its reach, where it comes from
The depth, the height, the evidence so plain
Given, not earned, perfected and sane

Now consider our God, big “G” not small
He is the very essence of love, for the world, yes all
He sent His only Son, to redeem us from ourselves
Giving a gift unearned, into our hearts He delves

Those who know Him, accepted by faith ...

Luke 10 25-37

I have been feeling a lot lately like I could just be doing more! I love that song by Mathew West, Do Something. Every time I listen to it I bee bop along singing to the top of my lungs like I’m auditioning for The Voice. Thing is though we are all on this earth living a life that has been created for amazing purpose and we should be singing out that truth with such a conviction that the world ...

Luke 4

My family and I went to Story Book Gardens to celebrate the life of Daniel but when I was coming back with tickets I had purchased for the kids people were shouting “somebody do something” and everyone was looking horrified upon the scene of an elderly lady who was laying on the ground in a small pool of blood. I can honestly say my years of training working beside paramedics just kicked right back in and I took over the ...

Happy Mother’s Day

Posted by:

Mother’s Day a day set aside to honour Moms for their endless sacrifices and unconditional love. I absolutely enjoy that moment when the kids come over or the phone rings and I hear “Happy Mother’s Day to the best Mommy in the whole world.” While I’m not of course as there are far greater and more selfless Moms, I am in the eyes of my child, the most beautiful.

Isn’t that really how we should see God in ...

This world is not our Home

Posted by:

Sometimes the troubles of this world just hits you like a brick; and all you can do is turn your back on the lies that this passing earth we live on bargains with our soul for. For surely this world is not our home and His grace must lead us through the tragedies that leave us shattered and broken without the ability on our own to endure. Sometimes we are left barely clinging to the end desperately searching for ...

Today my son would have been 28yrs. Wow still hard to believe I won’t be calling him today. Life is short and we just don’t get one seconds back, don’t miss it! So here’s to you DT sending two shouts out to Heaven today in thankfulness to God for your higher calling and every second we shared with you. Wouldn’t change this time that has come or all the mistakes made, on my worst day I am your Mom and ...

Joy in the Lord

Posted by:

I was moved so deeply in my spirit when I got the news of another young person who was the passenger in a vehicle that was taking her to school. I know all too well the measure of missing that comes with the loss of a child, it is infinite! I try and write most of the people I can when I hear about the death of their loved ones as I sincerely relate to a part of the ...
