Struggling me

Posted by:

I’ve has been a really rough week and my mind has been struggling as to why I always seem to find myself here. I am tired of my own sin-sick heart. I can honestly tell you I can barely wait to see the Lord Jesus return. And you know what I think that’s just where God desired me to be, focused on His return and the Joy of His coming World and not the things of this world.

Ever find you get so busy in the world, occupied by the world that you forget we’re not of this world? I can so easily get involved in things that have no eternal value and can draw my attention into an abyss of nothingness. Like watching cheap movies at the theatre every Tuesday when instead I should try opening the Bible and experience the significance of hearing God speak to me. I mean really when you think about it, it is already His Words and I have been given a front row seat!

So why do I let myself get into a heartbreaking mess before I remember where my help comes from and Whom I can believe in? I guess it’s the hazard of my lukewarm heart! I wish I wouldn’t get off course and need a rudder upside the heart to redirect my path, but I am prone to wander in a sea of storms if I bypass the Lighthouse and choose to follow my own path.

And it will growl over it in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress; Even the light is darkened by its clouds

“Sin-sick heart,” yes it is our sin-sick hearts which show not only the depravity of man, but the depravity of self. It is so difficult to understand how God should love people so much that He paid such a tremendous price to redeem us from our own wicked desires, washing us clean, today, yesterday and forever. How unsearchable is the love of God! Awesome is a word much abuse in today’s vernacular, but every time I hear it I think of God because awe is what we are in when we truly seek His face. Jesus said, “I have come to give you life and to give it more abundantly.” John 10:10 God is love.
